[ Adachi is lucky to get a reply so early in the morning. Oh wait it's because Viktor hasn't been able to sleep because of nightmares from the haunted house, oops. ]
I think he actually has a cat onesie already. Something to do with a costume-themed photo shoot? I don't remember exactly.
Why are you drunk? And why didn't you invite me!
[ Honestly, Viktor could use the distraction of being drunk. ]
[ It takes a while for a response to come since Viktor was in the middle of his morning routine. When a reply comes, you can almost hear his amusement through the text. ]
[ Hajime doesn't miss the way the house itself seems to droop with how hurt his two roommates are. He didn't miss the copious amount of takeout, the somewhat dim lighting, the guests... he presumes nothing, but he can take one thing away from all of this: both of them are hurt in a bad way. Instead of asking what's wrong directly and risking being intrusive, Hajime cleans, because that's really the best way he knows how to show he cares. He cooks, if only so they don't have to rely on takeout. Little notes are left for him and Yuri (and guests)--that they're free to eat as they like. He's quick about it too--blink and you'll miss it. Hajime's used to taking care of his little family on his own, so it's not any trouble, anyway.
... but what he does do is send Viktor a little text: ]
Sorry to text you out of the blue! You don't have any allergies, do you?
[ Beeeeeecause it'd suck to cook something someone's allergic to when you're trying to help them feel even a little bit better. ]
[ Viktor's noticed his actions at least, thanking Hajime went he can catch him quickly enough. It's actually very endearing—and it reminds him of his fiancé a little too in that Hajime doesn't want to intrude or be rude. It makes him smile even if the smile is a little sad looking. ]
[ An invitation shows up in Viktor's inbox at some point in early November... RSVP can be handwaved, and don't worry, the log will go up in advance of actual Thanksgiving! ]
[ Otabek leaves a package. It's neatly wrapped with a bow at one corner and a handwritten note tucked under the edge. Inside is this and the note says - ]
Viktor,
Thank you for being there for me when I needed a friend. Happy Holidays and Best Wishes.
- Otabek Altin
P.S. I was not sure what to engrave on the band, but if you decide, I will do that for you.
[ This gift is too big for a box, so Hajime instead plants it in front of Viktor's door with a big bow on its head. There's also a sticky note that says 'look inside!'
Inside the sleeping bag there's a canvas tote bag containing a neatly folded and printed card, as well as a cellophane-wrapped packet of frosted sugar cookies and intricately decorated chocolate truffles. The canvas bag itself is covered in all kinds of Russian wordplay and puns.
'I hope you can be happy here too, so I thought these might make you smile a little! Merry Christmas! - Hajime' is printed on the inside of the card. ]
[ Viktor almost dismisses it as a spam text, not recognizing the number right away and only glancing at the username. "Queen of Heaven" though? Why did that sound familiar ...
Then Viktor very nearly breaks his neck with how fast he whipped his head back towards the phone screen. ]
