[ Normally, Viktor's hangovers aren't quite so dramatic the next day, but other events that happened after the drinking just compound the problem for Viktor this time. Even at 11am, he's still not out of bed, and he squints at the brightness of his phone. ]
I'd say it was a memorable night, but I honestly can't remember some parts of it.
[ Hinami doesn't know Viktor overly well, but he'd been friendly and certainly seemed to enjoy his coffee. So she's more than happy to track his frequency down and send him an invite to RE:'s grand opening.
present the date says March 1st my new computer doesn't have photoshop ]
[ Perhaps it's a bit old-fashioned, but the message arrives for Viktor via mockingbird. Sealed closed by a wax mockingbird sigil, the letter is hand-written in careful cursive. ]
Dear Mr. Nikiforov -
We have not spoken before, but my name is Petyr Baelish. I serve as the ambassador for Maurtia Falls. I write to you on behalf of a project I am working on within my city. Construction has already begun on rebuilding a much larger library, but I wish for this to be more than simply a bigger structure. I hope to inspire education and the spread of knowledge to the natives of Maurtia Falls as well as provide an invaluable resource to new arrivals here. But more than that, I wish to use it to pay homage to the natives who lost their lives within Maurtia Falls due to imPort related tragedies. Their names will be honored within the library itself and donations will be set up to be made to the families.
For this project to succeed, I need your help. If you are able to donate anything at all to the cause, it would be most appreciated -- whether that is books, money, or simply your time. I plan to put programs into place once the library is finished to have imPorts come in and read to the much younger generation. I believe it would be a great way to strengthen the native and imPort bond.
I thank you for your time, and I do hope to hear back from you soon.
Sincerely, Ambassador Petyr Baelish
[ OOC: You can feel free to just respond to this OOCly if he would donate anything or not! ]
[ This morning, there's two packages waiting for Viktor when he wakes up. One is the half finished list of sponsors that Adachi promised. There are notes all over, pointing out financial capabilities of each business, where the money is coming from and where it goes, and what businesses have dealings that can't be explained without a closer look. A few of them are circled, declaring that Viktor should call them ASAP, particularly a clothing designer, whose information was even on top of the pile. There are some with notes of caution, noting that while the numbers are good, there are some things that Adachi had questions about. Still the guy was good with money, so it might be worth a shot? ]
[ The other package is unmarked, and the handwriting is unfamiliar -- almost like someone took off their glasses to write the note inside. With it are three cards marked "night pass" for the ice rink in Heropa. ]
If you go to the rink before they close and show the pass, they'll let you stay however long you need.
Most they can allow for until you make names for yourselves.
[ It's unsigned, and there's nothing else inside that could point to where it came from. It's totally just a coincidence that it arrived with Adachi's package, right? ]
[ It's two days before Friday. Two days before Adachi needed to get dressed and go out on a date. Not his first, no, but the first he had the presence of mind to give the best try he could to get right. ]
Viktor i need help The dates in two days and i just They said it was semi formsl but Idk aboyt just wearing my usual suit I mean i wear thind thing everyehere I mean its formal But semi formal Idk what that even means I need help Like teally bad
[ The panic has definitely set in, considering the rapid line by line send of the message storm Adachi just sent over. ]
Hello, you may not know me but I was given your information by Yuri Plisetsky. He told me he had a knee injury recently, and that I should ask his coach if it's alright to examine him. You could say I have a medical curiosity since I've just arrived in this world not to long ago.
My name is Dr. Hannibal Lecter and you're free to call if you'd like. You can also visit Vegan Munchies Bakery for a conversation as well.
[ It has been awhile since he used his title and it only feels right he can assume such an identity again out of his own will, rather than to needlessly combat a government chosen position. ]
I imagine we're all still adjusting from the strange outbreak of sleeping sickness and dreamscapes, so you can contact me at your leisure.
[ Ever the courteous man he keeps it formal, but polite. Sterile, but his tone always has somewhat of a musical quality to it when he tries. ]
[ Viktor calls the number back a couple hours later; he'd been training at the time the call came in and returns it while he's even still at the rink. ]
Dr. Lecter! Yura told me he made a doctor friend, and I'm very glad you called.
[ It's pretty late when Adachi sends his text; later than when he contacted Yusuke. He couldn't sleep, though; even with painkillers, the pain in his wrist mixed with that lovely hospital smell was keeping him awake. He didn't want to bug Viktor with his stupidity, but... well, it was Viktor. He trusted him to understand. ]
[ It's a few minutes before a reply comes in; Viktor's early-to-bed schedule actually already had him asleep but had awoken when Makkachin felt like being cuddly and stepped on him in sensitive areas. Viktor had just about drifted back to sleep when his muggy brain registered the phone's ping, and it takes him several attempts to squint at the bright screen to produce a coherent reply. ]
[ ...geeze, his text thread with Viktor is ridiculously long. Like holy hell, he needs a moment to scroll back and look because he didn't even realize they talked this much. ]
[ ...okay, anyway, more important matters. ]
Two things.
I've got someone I need to warn you about.
And a favor to ask you're really not going to like.
[ The fact that Viktor was gone by the time he stormed away from Akira hadn't helped Adachi's mood any, but at least he had enough common sense to wait until he calmed down before trying to contact him. He was fairly certain if he had contacted him right away, it would have led to biting heads off. ]
[ It had taken a while for Viktor to calm down too, eventually leading him to the skating rink after he had just returned home with Yuri. He needed to get rid of the excess energy he felt pulsing through his limbs and beating it out on the ice had always worked for him before.
It's several minutes before Viktor replies, having heard the ping from his phone in his pocket, but he was in the middle of a repetition sequence, only stopping it when he was struggling to get his breath back, answering when his lungs didn't feel like they were burning anymore. ]
[ Otabek is definitely not the person he expected to hear from about this. (And not the person he hoped would talk to him about this. Why hadn't Yuuri texted him yet??) It's a few minutes before Viktor replies, the lack of sleep and general despair over the whole situation making him sluggish. ]
I didn't mean to. It was the farthest thing from what I wanted.
I want to but I honestly don't know how. I've apologized but he's too angry at me. And he's right to be.
Is he with you? He wouldn't tell me but I just want to make sure he's safe.
[ It's not long after the majority report is released that Yuuri sends Viktor a message. If he's noticed, he hasn't been around the house, and against whatever suggestions Yurio had made about not going anywhere without him because of the fans, he hasn't come home either. Truthfully, he's probably lost, but that's not the important thing to focus on right now. Really, he can't focus on anything. ]
[ Viktor has noticed a distinct lack of Yuuri in the house and he's trying not to worry about it too much, but he visibly sags with relief when he sees who the notification is from. ]
Of course not, you haven't been gone that long. Are you headed back now? I can meet you and we can get pork cutlet bowls from the café for dinner.
[ Right after this conversation wraps up, Viktor has to just. Sit for a moment to try and relax after that roller coaster of emotions, rolling her shoulders to try and relieve the lingering stress there. He scrolls back up on the screen to the beginning of it to recall just how the hell it had gotten so bad and—nope, bad idea. He doesn't want to feel that irritation again.
So he sets the phone down on the couch, screen still open and unlocked, and he gets up to pour himself a damn drink in the kitchen. ]
[Yuri had been on his way downstairs for another soda when he spotted Viktor's tense pose over his phone. It's so rare that he can't help but step at the base of the stairs to watch, and when Viktor leaves his phone just sitting there he creeps across the room to snoop through it.
He doesn't scroll very far through the conversation with Adachi; just far enough to come across a few of the sincerely angry texts from Viktor, the ones where he was defending Yurio. He's still reading them when Viktor comes back for the phone, wearing a look of surprise while what he's reading sinks in.]
[ With the recent acts of vandalism and break-ins, Yuuri's been particularly careful the last few days, but this seems like one of those moments where he's quietly panicking a little more than usual, having searched through the room he shares with Viktor and every possible place he can think of looking. In fact, if anyone came home, the house would probably look like a disaster—with Yuuri in the middle of it. Right now, he's sitting on the floor, hunched over his phone as he tries to type out a message that doesn't seem too desperate. ]
Have you seen my ring? [ Please say yes. He's probably close to crying about it. ]
[ Viktor narrowly avoided the hurricane that swept through the house by virtue of taking Makkachin out on a long jog/walk. He'd noticed Yuuri being a little more anxious than usual, but since he hadn't said anything yet, Viktor was giving him some space. If it continued into tomorrow though, Viktor was going to ask as gently as he could.
He was headed back to the house when the text came in, still about 10-15 out. He unconsciously twists his own ring around his finger when he reads it. ]
[ Luckily Viktor was already up at that time in the morning. He rushes to finish putting on his clothes once he reads the text, shooting one back to get more info. ]
[ At LEAST Yuri remembered to tell Viktor he was okay!! Even if it wasn't in so many words. In the space of a breath, Viktor panics, relaxes, and then gets confused. ]
