Because you can't deal with Adachi at all. You're making excuses for him getting too close to you while you were drunk! You're sort of going to try to work on his flaws. Maybe.
[He scowls darkly at the end of the rant and slumps against the back of the couch.]
...I know you care about me. I know you want to help, but you've got a blind spot with that guy.
[Yuri scowls and crosses his arms with a huff, looking pointedly away.]
I'll just...keep doing what I've been doing. Avoid him when I can, and tell him why I don't like him when I can't. Explain to him how the shit he says and the shit he does don't match up.
[There's an almost pleading tone to the outburst, and Yurio flushes with embarrassment at revealing that much frustration and tries his best to sink into the couch entirely. He continues in a quieter voice.]
Two people are dead because of him. Two families got fucking destroyed. All their friends... Anyone they ever knew. He's not owed forgiveness or acceptance for that. It doesn't matter what he does or how much of a whiny asshole he is about it.
[He pauses and turns to look at Viktor finally, trying for defiant anger but really looking more uncertain and lost than anything.]
I think that being friends with a guy who's obviously in love with you when you know what happened to the last person he wanted a shot with is a fucking stupid idea. I think he doesn't care about anyone but himself. He says he does, but nothing about the way he acts backs that up.
Then why don't you care?! That guy doesn't give a shit that you're engaged. He's still all over you any chance he gets, so when are you going to tell him to back off yourself?! You're playing with a goddamn loaded gun, Viktor.
[Yuri scowls darkly, frustrated with that answer.]
Then what is it? You're fucking around with a murderer who's attacked me, lied to both of us, treats me like some shithead for not trusting him, and—what. That's fine?
[He sits up sharply when he snaps, whipping around on the couch to face Viktor directly.]
He hangs all over you. He's trying to buy me off with those fucking rink tickets. He's buddying up to everyone we know. It's like he's trying to take over my life and everyone's just fine with it! I'm the asshole for not wanting a lying murderer around!
[ Viktor is very clearly about to say something about halfway through Yuri's snapping, but he just—deflates is the best word to describe it. His shoulders dip in surprise, eyes widening and his mouth staying open, lips parted as he stares at Yuri. ]
I know— [His voice cracks and he stops short, looking away and swiping at his eyes as subtly as he can while sitting two feet away.]
I know that, but it still feels like everyone he's gotten his hands on likes him better. They all just want me to get the fuck over it so he can be happy. You want me to get over it even if you're trying to listen now.

He'll have to believe it one day.

I just don't trust him.

... At all? In anything?

I'd trust a completely random person off the street more.
no subject
That makes me sad to hear, but I do understand why you don't.
... What do you want me to do?

[He'd really prefer it if Viktor broke off contact with Adachi entirely, but he knows that's an impossible wish at this point.]

So you know he's in love with you, and you know he killed the last person he couldn't have. Do you have some kind of death wish?

He and I have talked about all of that. It's not as black and white as you're trying to make it.

No, of course all of that isn't fine.
